Digital Stamps- Hula Mouse

I'm trying my first digistamp. I got it from a friend at Two ScoopsRice808 @aol.com and have spent quite a while trying to size it just right.(I'm a little challenged about computer technology). It's called Hula Mouse. I finally got it to work and I have it all colored and ready to share .The paper is from Basic Grey Porcelain 6x6 Pad trimmed with a Fiskars edger , the accent LAUGH in circles is from a stamp swap . The cardstock is from the scrapbox, and all images were stamped with Sepia Archival Ink.I colored the Hula Mouse Digistamp with Dick Blick Studio Markers ;Camel,Shell,Lt.Peach, and Beach. I accented the image with Marvy Victoria Rose, Pale Pink,Rose Pink,Bubble Gum Pink, and Lt. Green.
It made me think of the fun time at a Luau .

Blooming Beauty

Today I was able to try out a new set of Clear Dollar Stamps. It is the Blooming Fun set and haven't gotten around to using it before today. It is a nice set which includes 2 flower heads, stem, leaf ,a butterfly, snail and ladybug along with several small words.
I used the stylized flower head, stem, and leaf(stamped twice) from the set for this card. I stamped the parts of the flower, using Marvy Markers Lt. Green(for the stem and leaves), and Butterscotch for the flower. Next I took out my Bruynzeel Pastel Pencils to apply color to the stamped images. I used both the Sapgreen and Indian Yellow colors. I trimmed the completed flower, applied it to a off white textured paper from my scraps and attached it to the dark green cardstock. Next I stamped my saying (Hero Arts)on a pale vanilla scrap piece in Memories Sepia. Using a sponge, inked around the words and attached it to the card. My liner inside is another piece of the pale vanilla cardstock. I used my decorative paper edgers on both the verse and the liner and used a corner rounder on the flower image.

Summer Leaves

I took a walk in our local neighborhood today and looked at the beautiful leaves on the trees. I looked around with all the flowers in bloom and decided to make a card including the gray blue skies today. I hope I captured the beauty.
The stamp is a old Magenta Leaf Stamp, Inks are Versa Color Bamboo and Olive blended, ribbon scrap is sage green and once again the cardstock is from my scrapbox. I added a silver edged paper tag and printed beauty in SilverGel Roller .I did have a blurry problem with my photo, I'll try again tomorrow with another photo.

Felt Accent Card

I mentioned in an earlier posting about making some felt enhancements. Well finally, I had time to try out one of my ideas.I used my DP scraps and several card stock scraps for papers. I cut the scalloped edge with my CM Curvy Cutter(I think that was the name)I ran matching paper through my Cuttlebug using the "hi" die from the Cuttlebug Alphabet set,Olivia.I cut out freehand a cupcake shape, added some glittery sequins and a Zig Writer(coffee) to make the cupcake wrapper. Just a couple of glue dots for the felt cupcake and my glue stick to complete the rest.

Aah Gee..

Right before the start of our Vacation Bible School last day... a terrible thunder and lightening storm rolled in.The lights flickered and -went out . We had a major power outage. So we made the changes necessary...no computer time obviously, held inside recreation time,no barbequed S'mores for dessert. The children seemed to adapt well and rest of things went off okay and we closed without too many surprises. I am exhausted but it was worth all the hard work. Thanks to everyone at GCPC for working so hard.I'll be back tomorrow with a new card!

Father's Day Card

I came up with a last minute card to help out a friend for her Dad.
I used the Patriotic Boy from H&M's Celebrate the Day set.I used cardstock papers from my stash, tan, light blue, red, and bright yellow. First, I stamped in Memories Sepia ink the boy image. I watercolored it and then cut it out.I used my McGill 1 11/16ths circle punch in white and from Marvy(purple)the Scalloped Circle Punch (yellow paper). I used my MS ZigZag Border Punch with red paper as a background accent.I used the VersaColor ink pad in Imperial Blue with a sponge to put the focus on the images. Finally, I wrote a saying on the small circle, since that is what she requested.

Gift Card holder

I decided to make a gift card holder to hold a present for my husband for Father's Day.I had seen it on another site before Christmas and wrote down the dimensions but didn't try it at that time. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate the source right now but I will continue to try to locate that information so I can give credit where it's due.

The dimensions for it are :cardstock cut 9"x4 1/2", DP(designer paper)2 sections cut 2 7/8'x2 1/2",scrap paper or stickers for the name or a hi (mine was cut using my Cuttlebug Olivia Alphabet Set.It was a simple matter of folding the cardstock in thirds, using my boning tool to make a sharp edge.I next cut the last section on a diagonal , throwing away the discarded piece. I used the 2 precut DP pieces for the cover and also as a liner . I used a glue stick to stick them on and let it dry for a while. I cut a matching piece of ribbon as the closer with a yellow cardstock star cut on my Sixxix.I put small pieces of tape on the back of the star to hold the ribbon together and added a sticker on the front of the star from Jolees Boutique Father's Day package.I slipped in the gift card slipped the closure back on and I was all done.

Make and Take

I went to a friend's house recently with some other crafters and we had an evening of papercrafting. We went through each other's scrap boxes and created something new with the old.I found some Basic Grey scraps and used my punches to come up with a card. Another person had the trims and I had the large green brads. We made two to go into the CFH (Cards for Heroes) collection. We sent over 100 in our last batch to the great organization.

Revisit the Favorites

While going through my boxes of stamps I ran across some SU sets that I forgot I had . One of my favorite sets is Long Time Friend from 2006. I really enjoy that set and especially the verse included with it-" It takes a long time to grow an old friend".I made one tonight to send tomorrow to a special buddy.
Card Recipe:
Papers used(from scrapbox),watercolored with Winsor & Newton paints, accented with Twinkling H2O Bronze Medallion,Silver Jelly Roll pen and brass brads(Joann's).
The second card , the Hello Card was a quick card . I used my Cuttlebug and the Concentric Hearts die set. After cutting it out I ran it through the D'vine swirl folder (also Cuttlebug) and accented it with gold jelly pen. I used the Hello stamp and stamped it in Inkit Platinum ink .It was from a bag of unknown unmounted stamps I got at a swap.I mounted the front on a half sheet cardstock of khaki from Archivers.I corner-rounded both the panel and the card itself.

Old things are back again

I had bought eyelets to add to my cards years ago. I have been noticing many new cards with rivet/eyelets on them. I went through my stash and was able to find many unopened packages ready for my next cardmaking time. Now I just have to work on brainstorming for design ideas...

New Tool for me

I visited my LSS today as there was a sale and found a low budget surprise. It is the Deja Views CR-12 Zero Centering Ruler. It will help me as I hope to incorporate stitching and eyelets more often in my projects. It even has journaling and parallel lines. Best of all the price was less than $3.00 with my coupon. Check out your LSS to see what items you can find!

Anniversary Time

I've been putting off making anniversary cards for a while now but today I got inspired by a new stamp set from H&M Stamps. Heather Rolin created a beautiful set called "Our Love". I actually got it a while back but put it away "safely to save" and we all know what that means... now where did that go? I was cleaning today and ran across it and some other treasured new items...so look for a few new cards in the next few days.Happy stamping!

Make it yourself

I have been seeing such cute embellishments made from felt in the stores but so pricy. I have a friend who donated her big felt scraps to me and I have been working on creating some homemade felt items for myself. When I'm done, I'll post a photo on one of the finished cards.

Lovely Verses

One of my favorite verses sets from Sweet and Sassy Stamps is "Pray Without Ceasing".I especially like "If your day is sewn together with prayer,it is much likely to become unraveled". I made this card for a friend going through some tough times. It seemed appropriate to use papers from my scrap basket, so I don't know the source. The punch I used was the Marvy scalloped circle(purple extra large) .I used DMC floss for the thread accent. Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of You

I needed a quick Thinking of You card for a friend in the hospital. I decided to do a card using my Cuttlebug folders. These are great and really enhance a paper crafting project in minutes. I used both the Herringbone and Feel Better folder sets. Each of the folders were inked before inserting the paper for embossing. The VersaColor cubes are great for this as the small size fits the tiny folder size as well as the full size ones. Two separate runs through the Cuttlebug and the prep work was done.(I then stopped to clean off each of the folders for the next time). I also included 2 Prima flowers and brads for the flower centers. The Versacolor inks transformed my white cardstock into a soft mixed background. Inks used were olive, seashell, cinnamon, umber, and sky blue.
