Polka Stars

I had forgotten that I had won this Verve Polka Stars Stamp Set this summer . It arrived in midst of my reorganizing and I tucked it safely away... I found it again today. I didn't want to just do the predictable so I went on the Verve stamp Gallery for a fresh idea. I saw one by Bethany Paul and decided to do my version of her card.I chose to stamp my stars in pinks and raspberry to make it different. Brown paper was cut in a wave pattern attached to the card folder and then pink stitched ribbon was added on the card bottom. Stickles were added to enhance the curve.A square with the verse was edged with raspberry ink and with a pale pink Prima flower attached to the ribbon, it was complete.

Stamps: Verve-Polka Stars Set

Birthday Cutie

I have a bunch of younger children to make cards for and Rachelle Anne Miller stamps are great for ideas. One of the stamps I bought at the LSS garage sale was this one of Lily . It actually has her in a bathing suit but I changed it out by cropping the image and coloring it as if she is wearing a dress. I had the Frances Mayer scrap of DP with the dots and with the addition of the flower, works for me.Just a cute saying and it was all set.
Card Details:
Cardstock: Bazzill-white, scraps of tan

Oops

Oops... I was super busy and my post didn't go up in time. Yesterday, I went to a local SS store which was selling their discontinued demonstration stamps. There was one Magnolia stamp-Tilda holding Bunny and since I always wanted to get a Magnolia... it came home with me.I haven't inked it up yet...maybe today. I did work on more of my cards for the Shut-ins so I can bring some in to church and have members sign them.

Falling Leaves

Some of the leaves in our area are really starting to come into their prettiest . I visited a farmer's market in the next town and noticed some beautiful colors as I drove through the area. Halloween Candy

I just stopped at to get an ink refill,at my LSS and of course, looked around to see the new Fall and Holiday papers. Over on the clearance rack...(my favorite spot), I ran across a sheet of Halloween Candies, just one... I thought it would be great for a card idea to make for several small relatives of mine . The printed circle was cut by hand, then a matching cardstock punched scalloped circle slightly larger was added and a black rectangle to use for a background next. The folder was put through a Sizzix folder, and all of the papers were glued on top. The final touch was a scrap of gold paper cut by the Cuttlebug medalion which was then stamped with a make a wish message.Three brass brads were added to the corners to finish the card .

RAK holder

As I participate in a few RAK(Random Acts of Kindness) exchanges , sometimes stamped images are requested to share between the group members. I really don't have a container to hold them in the mailing process. Joy(joyntaesaplacetobeme.blogspot.com/2009_08_22_archive.html) had the directions for a nice one. I took the basic instructions and made a few tweaks with it. Here is my version. It is great and is only 1 sheet of double sided paper.I used some of the scraps to create a "belly band' to hold it together and added a decorated separate stamped image to finish it off.

Sometimes...

Another of those stamps I bought at the recent swap was used as the saying on this card. I thought about this design... I could imagine the verse as one written on a chalkboard. Gretel, a Swiss Pixie was a great fit with this one. I have plans to send this one out to a friend on the other side of the country. I think she will love it.

Bittersweet Time

One of my Fall favorites at the farmer's markets as the seasons change, is Bittersweet. I always look for those branches with beautiful berries as the fresh vegetable choices move onto squashes, and other hardy treats. While checking out a Michael's recently, I noticed a Stickles Spooky set of 3 bottles-Orange Peel,Purple, and Black Diamond. As I have this wreath stamp, I thought, I could make a glittery version of bittersweet to step up a vintage stamp. The Stickles does take forever to dry... but the results are great.

Crisp and Clean

Today, I went for a new look on a card. It was die cut day in my world. I felt like cutting the beautiful Bazzill paper scraps from the box into some- go to shapes and put the cut shapes in color families to get prepared for those emergency cards that creep up on us all. I used Cuttlebug Flower and QuicKutz Nesting Squares(Cookie Cutter) on this card. I found some scraps of both pink rickrack and orange sheer ribbons. The flower die pieces were connected with a brad and the top and botton pieces were diecut from the Cuttlebug Vintage Die set.The verse is from InkyAntics and was stamped in Versacolor Raspberry. All pieces were glued on to a Dark Teal card. I'm all set for the next last minute card.

Winter Joy

I have been trying out different ideas for special cards for the Christmas holidays...coming faster than we expect. This card includes one of my all time favorite stamps.I bought it in Independence, Missouri years ago during a visit to my BIL's family. It is so simply yet lovely. I have it on display during the holidays each year but I think this may be what I want to use this time around. The background paper was a half sheet I bought at that store swap recently so I don't know where the glittery plaid came from but I'm sure I can find something like it at the store too. The image was stamped with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink, cut out and colored with Zig Markers, then glued on to that torn edged glittery plaid. The word Joy was die cut from Sizzix Doodle Dies Christmas Set. The paper was treated with Glimmer Mist Pearl to add more sheen to the card. The only thing I might add would be a snowflake brad to the o in the word Joy.

Bow Binge

I made this card and then realized that I had a bow on the card I made yesterday.I though this card would be helpful to have on hand for birthday emergencies. The large stamp was inked using a number of Versacolor mini ink pads to create the unusual color blending. The stamp itself is an oldie from Stamp Camp. I love rediscovering oldies but goodies stamps and rediscovering why I selected them in the first place. The crosshatch pattern is so interesting and I will work on more ideas tomorrow . The verse stamp is from Stampendous. My bow worked for a change so I was happy with it!

Troll Kids

When I won two stamps last month from Hilde(Tindaloo in Outer Space) in Norway, I eagerly looked forward to receiving my prize. This is the first time I got the chance to ink one of them up. The Troll Kids look like ordinary kids... except for their tails, so I decided to create them just like that.I figured that Troll Kids need time to enjoy simple joys too.

Kitty, Kitty

Another oldie stamp I rediscovered in my tub storage is Penny Black's Celebrating. It is a cute kitty holding a balloon. It was stamped on a lt. tan scalloped circle, and glued on a scalloped rectangle enhanced with Posh Impression Floral Lights dye inks.Using the sponge applicator,I created a plaid pattern on the glossy paper. After drying, it was punched and glued together. Next holes were punched and ribbon yarn created a bow on the plaid surface. The last step was adding Crystal Stickles on each of the scallops surrounding the cat with the image glued with glue dots on to the blue cardstock.

Card to Go

I am a part of Teri's One Card Swap group and each month , members get a new partner to create a card for to surprise them. This month , my partner was Colleen. Her card arrived today and mine is leaving tomorrow and heading to her house. Hope she like it!
The card was created by using Nestabilities =Label 3.It's so easy on my Cuttlebug and was a snap. The Beehive stamp(SU1999) was from a set I got at that swap a while ago and the verse from Hero Arts. Just a bit of marker and a shimmer of Stickles for those tiny wings on the bees, a scrap of ribbon and I was set. Thinking about my cards is the worst part of cardmaking for me sometimes. Have a great day.

Pumpkin ,Pumpkin

Trying something new but not sure how I like it. A pumpkin shape was cut out of cardstock, covered with Doodlebug Thanksgiving Dots paper. A stamped image from PSX was colored, edged after tearing it and glued on the front. The word HI was cut using the Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet, plus die cut from Vintage CB set to act as a vine.

Autumn Splendor

In our part of SE Michigan, leaves are just starting to change into that beautiful range of colors. It takes a number of weeks but slowly all the leaves on trees in our neighborhood start to turn... that is except for the older big tree in our backyard. It is a bit different and the leaves fall at their own pace...usually after all the neighbors have raked and bagged up their own leaves. The leaves from our tree love to drift to visit neighbors up and down our block.... It's only for a short time and then poof they are gone for another year.
This card reflects this special time of the year. The card was scored and then folded using the Scor-pal and opens all the way thus allowing for three spots for messages. The stamp is a new one from my LSS. The image was punched after coloring and glued onto the contrasting scalloped edge circle and accented with Stickles . The back message area was cut from a tissue box opening discard, traced and used to create a accent. Two flowers were used along with one created by the torn paper method, crinkled up and the fastened with a brad.

Winter Time Card

It rained on and off all day here again and I though at least it wasn't snow... not yet. So I worked on another of those Christmas cards. Even the Drug Stores are pulling out the Christmas music... it was only Labor Day yesterday, and... Frosty was playing on the loudspeaker. Here is my card.Using the CM swivel cutter, The snowflake paper was a quick step to apply to the Kraft cardstock. The image is Cuddling and after coloring, was punched with a scalloped edge. Last step, a metal shape with Love already embossed on it was added with a heart shaped brad.

Mr.Scarecrow

While sorting through my Fall/Winter holiday stamps which were stored away, I found a stamp which had never seen ink before. This guy was one I bought quite a while ago but I was glad it was just waiting for me right now. I needed a birthday card for a new blog friend and this worked out great, just in time for pumpkin season.
It was one first made as a one layer card, just stamped and colored up, but after thinking about it, I decide to change it up.The image was chopped/cropped down, edged with a corner rounder and added to some brighter cardstock. Two different ribbons were added along with some Scrapbook Nails to finish it off.

Stamps:Inky Antics-Scarecrow (TammyDeYoung)

RAKs Holder

I have been seeing these folders on many blogs lately using one sheet of dual sided printed cardstock.I tried to figure this out and came up with this one. I wanted to have a new packaging all set for the next RAK(Random Act of Kindness) that I send off. There is room for two small packages of stamps, brads or other treats. I could also include ribbons or some of my Crochet Flowers by Gini.
It still opens up to include a message so it is like a typical card as well as something new.
