Families is in town be back soon!

Our son and DIL are visiting overnight, so I'll be back tomorrow. We don't get to see them often as they live several hours away.

What a surprise

I got from my ALOHA RAK partner.She sent me this great package filled with all sorts of treats. A notebook folder with my initial on it , a cute little box with yummy buttons and flowers, rhinestone bling,and an adorable flower pot card. Thanks ever so much Gail!

Extra extra...

When I saw this Magnolia... The first thing I though of was a new house card. The papers remind me of some place cozy and comfortable. We know some empty nesters who are thinking about going the condo route. I'm going to tuck this away to save it for when their plans are completed and they are off on their new adventure.

Seed Packet Folder

Today I am rushing because I totally forgot to send a surprise to someone. I created a seed packet diagonally tri-folded,with a pocket inside to hold some packages of seeds and a few treats. I hope she likes it.The image was edged with Distress Ink as was the verse. Ribbon was attached beneath the image and fastens the folder together.

A special buddy is celebrating her birthday. We teach together in the Church Nursery- the infant and toddler's class. She also is the maker of my crochet flowers(Flowers by Gini) which are used on my cards.This is the card I made for her.

We went...

to the Zoo...Detroit it is. Haven't been there in ages. Saw the animals and walked all over ... some of my favorites...the giraffes, sea turtles and the Arctic area with seals and Polar Bears. They also had a small gallery of Inuit art, including some Cape Dorset woodblock prints and several soapstone figurines(isn't the carved Polar Bear lovely?) . Didn't even get to the Butterfly exhibit, I was too tired.

I did it...

I bought a set of My Favorite Things Pure Innocence. It is so cute and I made a trifold card with the Fairy Girl.For a trim,I found the precut felt flowers border in the $1.00 area at Target(it was even self stick).

New Place

A friend was having a housewarming party for her daughter and I needed to create a card for her. I used one of my Sweet Nellie's stamped images (from a swap) and made this card.It is a baking image and I gave her a set of butterfly cookie cutters, a turner for cooking those cookies, dish towel for washing up and a grocery list pad to jot down all the yummy ingredients to create those cookies. Hanglar Cutie

I was lucky to receive a Hanglar/Anglar image among my recent swaps. The stamps are from Sweden and not sold outside the area. I would love to have a stamp of my own but alas not yet. She is already to share a flower with someone special.

If you are out shopping, check out Michaels, they have a new batch of those Studio G stamp sets(set 46) .They are larger and the two sets I bought have 4 stamps each included for $1.00. It's a great buy.

King for a Day

This cute bear and his friend Robin are all set for a party. I got this image in a swap from a group I participate in from overseas. Using more of my stashed items, this DP from Making Memories set the tone for this card. It's larger than my usual cards, but I found a great buy on unusual envelopes at BigLot(40 miscellaneous for $1.00)and this 6x6inch card will fit in something from the pack.The image was colored with Zig markers and the embellishment hearts were from a MS punch.The ribbon was from the stash box too.

Anniversary Time

Today is our 34th wedding anniversary. We have no big plans, just having dinner out, then back to our own little nest. I made this card just for him. He's a no fuss kind of guy, so CAS(Clean and Simple) is it.

Power Outage

We had no power for a most of the day so I worked on a card for a new challenge . It's the first one for http://www.winkwinkink.com. You can use their free digital stamp image to enter the contest which ends April 26th. Check out their site for more information and some ideas . No photo yet... my camera must have felt sympathetic to the power outage and needed recharging so the photo will be up tomorrow.

Hedgie

I have the cutest Penny Black Hedgehog. She is all set to go on an adventure. She colors up so fast and I really think she is sweet! I used another of those paint chip flowers propped up on foam dots so everything is "from my stash".

Use it

For this card I used what I had. Free paint chips from Lowe's were cut with the Cuttlebug Flower die set , then glued with a contrasting center. The Anya image was colored with Zig markers, then edged with a CM corner rounder. The background DP was from a swap(unknown) and the dotted Swiss sheer ribbon was from Michaels. She is off in the morning mail to be used as a birthday card.

Anya Time

I have to make a birthday card for a little one who is turning 3. She really likes princesses and fairy tales. The card came together quickly and some Stickles applied to dolled it up. I made a gateway card, with Anya Princess, and die cut her name and age. The glitter isn't showing up well on the photo . The sheer ribbon made the card look a bit more dressy. Happy Birthday to Zoey!

All Dolled up

I finally found a saying to go with this grownup Tilda. It is a sweet little Imaginations stamp and with this vintage looking DP (unknown) worked out just fine. I made a little stool from green scrap paper, embossed and distressed it to make it look old. Some sheer ribbon was tied in a bow and my favorite Stickles dotted the "diamond" and on her earrings.She was colored with good old Zig markers which also edged the saying before being cut with paper edgers. Here's to another card done to add to my emergency collection. Hope your day had as great weather as we had here in Michigan.

Baby Blessings

We have a new baby soon to be baptized in our extended family and although I can't be there in person on the other side of the US, my card will be representing us in spirit.The inside says "Babies are a gift from God".
