Vacation Bible School week
is finally here. We are busier than ever and having fun with all of the children.
Galactic Blast has arrived and this is a few photos of the team in action.I helped paint the photo boards and each of the "Astronauts" get their photos taken behind the openings. The other photo is during music and dance time.. This was the preschoolers in action. So until we are done this week, spend some time having fun yourselves! I am making thank you cards for all of the staff who have volunteered their time to have some fun with the children.

See Saw Frog
This cute image was bought at a show but the company name was lost so I guess it is an orphan stamp for now. It's cute with the frog playing with a fly.Inked with Pearl X Sepia Stamp Pad, it has a bit of shimmer and the card was colored with Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks. The corners are accented with Dew drops. It would be a fun thinking of you card.I know several people with lengthy illnesses for whom a get well card just doesn't do the trick. This one will be in the mail tomorrow. Happy crafting.

Cupcake Fun
Today's card is a House Mouse image that I received in a swap. It's a cute one and I thought it would be a great emergency birthday card. The DP is more of that Pixie Press Epoque . The image and the verse were both edged in Distress Ink Pumice Stone . Zig markers colored the mice, cupcake and candles with a touch of Stickles Rock Candy for glitz. The pink was from the scrapbox and a piece of unknown paper. The cardstock was Bazzill Kraft. Happy Crafting.

I'm tired
of storm based power outages. Ours went out again last night but recently returned tonight and when last I checked more than 5000 homes are still out. Another storm is due in tomorrow so who knows about our power issues. This is a yearly problem which hits usually once during those big gusty summer storms but we have had it happen 3 times already this month...a long summer is ahead of us!
Today's card has a beautiful verse from Sweet n Sassy Stamps-Everyday Miracles (SNS10-025). The frame stamp is an oldie from See D's-Once Upon a Time set. The butterflies are MS Butterfly punched with from scrapbox paper while the background is DP from Pixie Press -Epoque Diamonds. The verse was stamped with Memories-Sepia. Happy Crafting.

Strawberry Social Day
I was so busy helping on Friday the whole day to get ready for our big event at church. We had a great turn out of people ready purchase and to eat the strawberries, ice cream and cake outside on picnic tables. It's an annual project and the church member bakers create wonderful items for their booth, while the crafters have a Boutique with tempting items for sale. It is a fundraiser for mission projects throughout the year. Our church is right on a main street in town so we get lots of event guests. However,we had to close up a bit early due to an awful storm approaching the area . At least the storm held off until we had cleaned up the outside. Many trees were uprooted in the area and our house had no power overnight ,then the cable went out for another day.
Now I'm back again with my Father's Day card. It's a digi stamp .I just colored it in with Zig markers and added some Stickles and brads in the corners for an accent. The Navy Bazzill background paper was run through the Cuttlebug in a Sizzix folder from the Birthday Surprise set(656257).

Papercraft Inspirations
There is a magazine from England called Papercraft Inspirations. In each issue they include a bonus. In the current issue(June 2010), a small set of Bumble Bear stamps was the surprise. There are also templates in each issue and more included online. It's a bit of a splurge at $9.95US per issue but a great idea for a birthday gift for the paper crafter you know. This card was made with one of the Bumble stamps.I used Mementos Tuxedo Black ink stamped on white CS for the image, colored it with Zig markers, then used paper scraps for the background and a balloon brad for a bit of shine.Happy crafting.

The Greeting Farm
Buddies was a set I won a while back but hadn't used yet. I thought this boy with his dog pal would be a great choice for a boy's birthday card. I have a bunch of birthdays this summer so I'm trying to get going with those cards.Using the Zig markers, it came out nice and was quickly completed. The background paper edge was punched with a Fiskars loop punch. The verse was included in the stamp set and ink edged with Distress Ink Bundled Sage .I just added 3 Sunflower dew drops on the side to jazz it up a bit and and then the card was complete .

It's a cupcake kind...
of day.I totally forgot that I had this set from I.O.(MC181-Cupcake). I thought I would think out of the box as I am not a "purple girl" but have a bunch of friends who just love it. Another birthday card all set...
I got the unknown DP, and ribbon and brads at that recent swap at the LSS store. Added some stickles around the edges of the image. The punch was from Marvy( scalloped giga). Happy crafting all.

New Chance
I had the chance today with a friend to learn how to create handcrafted engraved sterling silver beads and to work on each step of the development from poured melted silver to the sanding, deburring process and polishing on each product. It's a new company and the work is detailed. It was a long day 7am-5pm and I'm tired,so no card today.

Surprise...
Tomorrow is the last regular day of church school for the year although we do have the Nursery each week during the summer. This year I have been blessed by two additional co-teachers Gini and Jen. The Babies and Toddlers in our class have had their lives enriched by the gentle care and nurturing of these special ladies. I am making a special thank you for each of them so I won't post it today. Hugs to you both for helping in this important work during worship time.
Here is the information about the gifts I prepared for them.
The quote for the plaque was mentioned on Charmworm's blog and found on the Perpetual Preschool website. Jen loved the plaque while Gini received a gift of 5 cards I would create for her of her choosing. She has requested 2 Sympathy and 2 Get Well cards along with a religious card. Thanks again ladies!

You lead..
Another unknown image from a recent swap was used on this card. It reminds me of Penny Black images but...I don't know.I have this set of Hanna Stamp phrases and I found... the perfect saying for this card and stamped it with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink. A bit of Zig markers, sponged the edges with Distress Ink Bundled Sage and a few Sunflower Dew Drops and this card was finished. The DP was from the scrapbox and I don't know how old it is or from what company.

Just for You
I tried another Dino boy card but this time I used Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks to color the image. It is even nicer in person as there is slight sheen on his costume and in the background .I cut some tall grass from a scrap of green DP, along with the scrap paper behind the image. The "Just for You" is from a set of CTMH Friendship's Garden that I got at the recent store garage sale. A couple of Sunflower Dew drops on the side, and I'm set for another birthday card. This summer is packed with family birthdays coming up on the calendar.Happy crafting!

So sweet
I found this gorgeous seafoam green striped paper pack at the swap last Sunday and my mojo got a jump start...I revisited this adorable image and used a MS border punch on it to create this card. A little Zig Markers to color her in and card stock scraps,a few flowers and it was done. A clean and simple card all set for sending a birthday greeting next week. Happy crafting all!

Thank you to the Military friends
I have been wanting to celebrate the military members on our country's birthday, to thank them for their service on an important day. We have several people currently serving in the military from our church and I thought this card would be a great thinking of you card . At our church ,we like to send cards to our home bound members and those living/working away from home. This is also another way to send a hug to them, far away from family and friends. I had the chance to try out the new Cricut Independence Day cartridge at a crop and made this card .The inside says...Thanks for all you do!

Swap time again
My LSS shop had their twice a year "garage sale" for customers to tag and sell items they no longer want or can use in their paper crafting today. I got some good buys -brand new Distress Ink(Dusty Concord-$3.00 still sealed),Pearl EX Stamp Pad($2.00 still sealed),a couple of CB embossing folders($2.00each-new),2 CTMH acrylic stamp sets($1.00 each) ,K&Company Ribbon Adhesive $1.00(and 4 spools of ribbon for $1.00-a steal!) and I admit my impulse purchase of 3 packets of 6x6 papers at $.50 each...I did look for some things for some friends but I couldn't complete their "wanted" requests this time. I passed on a Corner chomper only $5 and someone was selling their Big Shot Die cut machine for only $75.00 but my Cuttlebug Machine is doing the job for me.The shop was packed with people and merchandise but the hunt brings in the bargain hunters every time. Can't wait to hear about the next swap...thanks Chris N. and the crew for all of the work organizing the event again!

Trying something out
I joined Christmas Stamping All Year Long on Paper Crafts Planet.com. Check out the site for details. The "purse" includes two spots inside to include photos using paper CD holders. The matching card is a set of three, which will be a gift later on in the year. After going crazy with last minute cards last Christmas, I decided to start early with those cards this year and this group really helps out with encouragement.
Card Details:

Stamps: CTMH-Snow Friends
Ink: Mementos:Tuxedo Black

It's Popping Corn to You!
One of my nieces is celebrating her big 11th birthday in a few days and I thought she would like this House Mouse card. I also used one of the Cuttlebug folders(Birthday Candle in the background)that I got recently at Big Lots. It was colored with my Zig Markers and I just added some of the brads from my embellishment box. Hope she likes it along with the birthday gift included inside. Happy Birthday to you sweetie.
