A mixture of the "'new" and old

This card is a mixture of a Gorgess Girl and this cute little package Stampendous stamp I got at the store "garage sale' along with the DP.It was $.50 cents and I thought ... that little stamp will come in handy . A little Stickles on her hair clip gives her some glam. The heart brads have been hanging around for ever so with that, here is another birthday card.
********
I keep on thinking about buying some Copic markers. It just isn't in the budget right now but a girl can dream about things can't she?...
Jennifer Mc Guire had a great Copic overview on her blog-http://jennifermcguireink.typepad.com. Check it out if you have been thinking about these markers just like me or for those lucky people already owning some, she has a nice color organization section including her favorites in each of the wonderul colors.

We have family for the weekend...

planning some fun times together so I won't have a card today. I did go to another store" garage sale" earlier and got some good buys on some unwanted stamps.Hanna Stamps phrases(BTW-Kristi is closing the company), an Ali Edwards mini set, some dew drops(never tried them-for $.50-why not),and a cute new Anime Birds die set from QuicKutz(just $4.00). I found a pack of 7 Gypsies Zanzibar paper -just $2.00. So not too many splurges and made it home before the company arrived. Yippee.

More Birthdays Coming

This Krafting Kimmie's Charlotte really fit the occasion for another birthday card. This person likes it a bit funky so the stamped image paper was cut a bit off just to make it different.Colored with Zig markers, coordinating shapes were punched from scrap papers. Another stamp, Warm Wishes (unknown)was added to finish it off with a raised foam dot underneath . The DP has a touch of glitter on it so, no Stickles on this one, just a loop of sheer white dotted ribbon on the side.Think it will add a smile to her face.
Card Details:
Cardstock: Bazzill-White,Peach, Eggplant
Ink: Mementos-Tuxedo black
Markers: Zig

Family plans

Another card...

This is a thinking of you card possibility. I'm not sure about this one. I used the Sizzix Tapestry folder to try to create wallpaper along with the use of Glimmer Mist. I tried to make a chair for the LaLa gal to sit in and anchor her down. I think she needs something but... I could see her talking on the phone but I don't have a phone stamp.Maybe she is just waiting to say hello to a special person. I'll do some more thinking about this one.

Birthday, birthday

I have a batch of March birthdays coming up fast so I have been working on the cards. This is the first one. It's Bruno Bear from Whiff of Joy,all ready for a party. I fancied him up with some glitter, a flower, and a bow. The background was made by those great Glimmer Mists, plus some Twinkling H2O's to add some extra shine.

.....Never grows old

Franz Kafka said this ,and when I received this Tilda image, I thought of it immediately. She is so sweet standing there holding her Dala Horse. I think it is just perfect for a birthday card. The Mulberry paper makes a great textured background and I had just enough of that striped ribbon to finish the top.Just a couple of Architectual accents from Sizzlits and another CAS(Clean and Simple) card.
Card Details:
Cardstock:Bazzill-White,Lt.Green
Stamps:Magnolia,Hero Arts
Ink:Memento-Tuxedo Black
Ribbon:unknown (from a swap)

Another Day off

A friend sent me some stamped images in a swap and I am enjoying doing some coloring. It's always a relaxing thing to do for me. I'll have the cards up on the blog tomorrow.
Today,I went to order one of Tim Holtz's new embossing folders sets at my local S&S store. It should arrive in early April. Check out his website to see all of his new items. He has a new Sizzix die cutting machine that looks like a suitcase. If you already have a Cuttlebug, Epic 6 or other larger die cutting systems, his new dies should work in them also. His site is http://timholtz.typepad.com.

Yet another anniversary

Here is another anniversary card . I tried a technique by Beate John on Splitcoaststampers.com. She called it a Folded Paper Frame and wrote a tutorial for it. With a ScorPal , it was a quick project. After preparing my frame, I stamped the open area with a Love stamp(See D's), and went over the word love with a glitter Spica pen. The frame was attached to more of the Glimmer mist cardstock I created earlier. The front was attached with tape runner, sheer ribbon was tied on and for a touch of bling, three pearls to celebrate a 3rd anniversary.Have a wonderful day.
Card Details:
Cardstock:Bazzill-Ecru,White, GCD DP-Tinted Rose Stripe
Ink: Memento-Tuxedo Black
Ribbon:May- Pale Pink Sheer
Pearls:Recollections

A get well wish

A friend is having some medical issues and I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her. Hope this card lifts her spirits.
I used more of my Glimmer Misted papers as the background. A heart was cut with my Marvy heart punch, and stamped with warm wishes(SU)after using Glimmer Mist on it too.I used a Gorgess Girl stamped image and colored her in with my Zig markers.Just love the spring green grosgrain ribbon, I found at the recent "garage sale" for 50 cents for a new spool.

Cardstock:Bazzill-Sea Blue, White

Valentine' Finale

After making so many Valentine's cards for our Veteran's Project at church... I am finished with them ...except the card for my husband. I made this one into a wedding card for friends at church who are having a small reception on Sunday in honor of their recent marriage. I baked mini chocolate chip cookies as one of the desserts. Since I had a snow day today, I baked all afternoon . I hope there are enough as six batches only go so far. Best wishes to the happy couple!

I ran the pink paper through the CB Heart folder, then cut a hole with one of the the nesting squares to display the mini stamps, which were stamped and mounted separately after being cut out. Love was stamped and sponged with ink to coordinate with the mini images. The silver paper was cut and run through the crimper to add some bling. The pink paper was trimmed to allow for a white edge around the card front.
Card Details:
Cardstock: Bazzill-White ,Pink, unknown silver scrap
Ink:Memento-Tuxedo Black,Kaleidacolor-Berry Blaze
Stamps:SU-Hope is...,Inkadinkado-One plus One Equals Love

Valentine's with a twist-SSD Saturday Challenge

I noticed another challenge while blog hopping on the Stamp,Scrap & Doodle Saturday Challenge Blog. They requested making a different Valentine, outside the box. I thought about it and came up with this combination of unique stamps and papers that works for me. I dug out my favorites, Glimmer mists and sprayed up some new background papers. Next out came a Messy Rabbit stamp by Joanne Sheen which was first colored then Stickles was added in spots. Next, a stamp from SU Sage Advice (2005), which was edged with some ink. Finally , the Cuttlebug Flower die set was used to create the flower using my pile of scraps.
Card Details:
Cardstock: Bazzill-White, pinks (from the scrapbox)
Inks:Memento-Tuxedo Black,Studio G-Lime Green
Markers:Zig
Glimmer Mist: Sunflower,Tattered Rose,Blue Skies, Pearl

A Challenge

On the Impression Obsession blog today, there is a challenge. I don't participate in challenges too often but this one was fun. It is to use an IO stamp and to create a card in shades of green. First, I put the cardstock through the CB with the Swiss Dot folder. Next, the shapes were cut using a Nesties set and making use of a pre-cut scrap from an earlier project using a different die set. Each item after being stamped and colored in,was sponged around the edges with a variety of green inks. There is a button and some Stickles added for some bling.I think this card will fit the criteria.
Try it for yourself!
Card Details:
Cardstock:Bazzill-Olive,White
Stamps:IO Cupcake set (MC181)
Inks:Memento-Tuxedo Black,Whispers-Green Leaf,Scrappy Cat-Green, Versacolor-Olive
Markers: Zig
Stickles:Icicle
Nestibilities:Labels Three,Lattice
Ribbons:Mays-Olive Sheer,Wrights-Wavy Trim-Green

More cards

Today, I was working on more of the cards for the Veterans. I really want to have every patient in our wing receive a card for Valentines Day. It is such a small gift to thanks them for their Military Duty to our country.
P.S. I'll be back when I'm done

Cardmaking Night

Our paper crafting night at church this time was to create cards for our Valentine's for Veterans project. We had several new people come to help out and many were completed. Here is a photo of some of them. The children will be decorating the gift bags and book marks that we include for the Veterans Project next Sunday in time for delivery to the VA Hospital in our area.
