Bringing a Smile

This TGF image is perfect for a friend's birthday surprise card. Wishing her all the best for a happy year ahead filled with many adventures. The vintage dotted pink SU paper was from a swap and looked nice combined with kraft. I am just in a kraft paper mode. It can be dressed up or just casual and looks great both ways! The ribbon is from my ribbon box and Anya was colored with Zig markers. The tiny pink flower came from England. The image was edged with Distress Ink-Spiced Marmalade. Happy Crafting!

Dancing in the rain...

I have a friend going through some challenging times right now. I made this card for her. I got this image in a swap so it is unknown to me. The verse is from Hanna Stamps and works well with the cutie. It was colored with Zig markers and sponged with Vivid sky blue ink. The ribbon and flower are from the scrapbox and the cardstock is from Bazzill. Happy Crafting!

Hi Again

I had to make a special card gift for a great lady I know. She is turning 80 and my GF is throwing a surprise party today with her siblings. She does so much at our church and works in the church school program with her daughter and granddaughter cooking and crafting with the children. She loves to travel and explore nature with her husband and the entire family. I found this paper at the swap with the name cut off but I though it would be the best choice for her. I wrote some of my favorite scripture verses on the computer and made a booklet for her.I took a photo before putting the booklet together. Happy Birthday Pat!

I'm working on

a new project. I saw this great idea while reading Our Daily Bread Design blog today. I'm working on it and will be posting it when I'm finished . Check out their site for some great projects.
A special friend from church passed away suddenly and I will be helping with the events over the next few days. We still have the Sanctuary decorated for VBS - our outer space theme. So tomorrow I will be helping to clean up the decorations to make everything back to normal and appropriate for his funeral. Thinking of you Herman!

Butterfly Gal

This cute little image came from an image swap. It was unlabeled so I don't know her name but on such a hot day,she is wearing a perfect dress for the weather. I colored her with my Zig markers. I included one of the cute punched and folded flowers like the ones that Becca shared how to make on her Amazing Paper Grace site a few days ago. Hoping the weather will cool a bit tomorrow, it was 94degrees today. Happy crafting.

A Happy Fourth of July!

This little cutie from TGF just made me think of this great patriotic scrap I found from Inque papers in my box. I combined it with kraft, red and white papers and some sheer red Details ribbon. Just a bit of my Zig markers and sponge edged the image with Vivid Sky Blue ink . And another summertime CAS card was completed. I just watched A Capitol Fourth on PBS and there was a nice tribute to Erich Kunzel . He was a conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra and we had attended several concerts a few years ago at the DSO that he conducted. Happy Crafting!

Just a

quick birthday card because we are off to Greenfield Village tonight to see the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Salute to America concert and fireworks. We go with a group of special friends each year. The orchestra celebrates each branch of the Military Services with the songs and of course honoring the Veterans. It is so much fun during the concert. The wide selection of music ends with the 1812 Overture and the cannon blasts. Then come the fireworks. Of course the picnic supper is always yummy with each family bringing food to share. I am bringing Blueberry Glazed Biscuits and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Happy 4th to all Americans and a belated greeting to all from Canada.Happy weekend to all.
