What a beautiful

card I received in the OCS group exchange. She did a lovely job with the paperfolding. The background looks like the Asian folder and the corners have beautiful pearls . Such a lovely papercraft. Thanks so much Cyndi!

Last Hurrah

This coming weekend is the last 3 day before school starts again and the forecast is great for a last chance for the beach. In my case, living in Michigan...that means a trip to the lake. I'm hoping we can do that but the list of chores is long so.. maybe only a beach trip in my dreams. This cutie from Rachael Anne Miller, seems like she is all set for a day of fun. The background is my first Tim Holtz Texture Fades-Rays, and just ran it simply through the Cuttlebug with great results. Just water colored the image, then edged both the background and stamped image with Distress Inks. A little bow to finish up and she is in the mail tomorrow. Happy Crafting!

Gift Card

I used the same Gina K's design set(Warm & Cozy Christmas) again to create this gift card for packages. The punched snowflake is from Martha Stewart and inked with Versa Color-White. The image was stamped in Memento-Tuxedo Black and edged with Distress Ink-Faded Blue Jeans. The lace was found at an estate sale.I'm going to make packs of 6 to sell at the church bazaar(there are foam peel and stick squares on the back to attach them to the package easily). Cozy Christmas

Another of the recent sets I bought from another blogging friend was this Gina K Design-Warm & Cozy Christmas. This stamps up great and colors so easily. Just punched out the pine branch by MS and added a "touch of snow-white ink"and a hint of glitter with Diamond Stickles. The child image was watercolored to finish up the scene. Another Christmas card goes into the box. Thanks Mary for a great set.

Let's hang Out!

Recently, I got this small Inkadinkado set. I thought about the stamps and decided to just add some water colored seahorses with a sponged background, clear Dew Drops on the bubbles, and a raffia tie to give it a beach feel. I've been missing the beach this year but hopefully we will make a trip there next year. Enjoy the rest of the summer. Happy crafting!

Changed my mind

After looking again at my last card, I decided to toss it. The embossed cranes didn't show up right and I thought I would go in another direction with it. I instead, came up with a hand cut kimono with a punched butterfly on its obi. A version of a CAS card with a bamboo envelope to send it off on its travels. Just a small Thinking of you in the corner,a single crane in white, and a touch of distress ink around the edges. Happy Crafting!

Swap Time

One of the groups I belong to is having a new card exchange. This month the idea was for an Asian themed card. I have these unmounted crane stamps from ages ago(Curtis U)and rarely use them. I inked up an older SU bamboo stamp and punched out sections of the stamped image to create a tiled effect. The sheer ribbon dressed it up a bit along with a few Dew Drops. Happy Crafting!

Doodle Pantry art

I used one of the images I got yesterday to make this card. The background paper is a scrap of BG Eerie paper from last year. I used a scrap of yellow Bazzill and cut it with a Fiskar border punch to make a path for the turtle to walk across the card. A Studio G stamp provided the SMILE word while a tiny scrap of brown paper was used as the background to it. The turtle was water colored with paints .Happy Crafting!

Tuscan Gardens Stamps

is another of the items I found at the church rummage sale. It's new in the box from All Night Media by Brenda Walton. The price was great-only 50 cents. The mini stamps will be perfect for bookmarks and inchies. It includes a small ink pad. The sun stamp really appealed to me and I plan to make use of it soon. Check out those garage sales for some inexpensive finds for yourselves. happy crafting.

Strawberry Thanks

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Zig markers and Prismacolor pencils. The DP was from BG Green at Heart 6x6 pad. The brads are from Michael's. The sheer ribbon is from May Co. Only 19 more clean and simple cards to go!

Blog Shopping

Several of my favorite bloggers are having sales of their gently used stamps to accomodate some new items. I was able to buy a set of Gina K Designs from one of them and it arrived in the mail today. I bought Summer Harvest just in time to be perfect for all of us who love to visit Farmer's Markets. I decided to use several of the stamps to make the thank you notes for all of helpers from the recent church Rummage Sale I organized . Thanks Tammy for sharing such a great set!

Time for a change

I decided to revamp my blog as I haven't changed the background for a long time. I forgot how complicated it could be but the updated information for blog designing really helped out. I was overwhelmed with the choices but I like what I selected.

Just a little note...

I saw this cute stamp at the store by Imaginisce-Apple Cider Collection. It's new and with apple season coming before long, it would be great for a fall gift in a group of cards. Got my favorite Kraft papers out to make this using two shades for a CAS card. Both the image and words (Sentiments from Hampton Arts)were stamped with Memories -Sepia and the apples and basket were colored with Zig markers and then cut out. The image was raised with foam dots and the sheer red ribbon is unknown(from my scrap box).In the fall, I love to go apple picking and to make applesauce for my family.Yum!

Tired of Laundry..

I sure am sometimes. I thought of this while separating our clothes to get set to do the wash. The TGF Laundry Anya can sure relate to that. The cardstock was put through Sizzix Stars folder, and some Diamond Stickles were added to brighten her day.I hand wrote the verse and the rickrack plus tiny flower buds add a touch of sweetness to her busy day. Happy wash day everyone ...take some time to do some crafting too!

Christmas card time

It has been so sticky over the past few days so I thought if I work on my Christmas cards, I might feel cooler.I found this cute girl in my stash of swapped images so she is another unknown for winter cards. The background cardstock was run through the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder. I went over each of the raised patterns with a white Jelly pen. The tree was cut from a scrap of BG.The trunk is a piece of grosgrain taupe ribbon(May Co.)The brad was from another swap and also unknown. The metallic snowflake came from Big Lots last year on a garland I got on clearance. The border of the card was cut to accent the embossed snowflakes.
It is only 134 days until Christmas. Start making those holiday cards to ease the rush later .

Rose's Garden

Another of the stamped images I received in a swap was Rose from Sarah Kay. She was great to color and when I found this scrap of ribbon among my treasures from the rummage sale, it fell into place quickly. After coloring ,I used my Cuttlebug to cut the image with one of the Nesting Tags from my QuicKutz set.The DP is from BG Green at Heart 6x6inch pad.The tiny flowers were colored with my Zig markers and a touch of diamond Stickles was added into the centers for some bling. This is getting popped into the mail for a belated birthday card. Happy crafting!(P.S.I had that bug that has been going around but am feeling better today.)

Hurray!

The rummage sale is over and all the leftovers are bagged up for pick up by a nonprofit organization next week. We earned over $2,000.00 for mission work at our church. What a blessing!!Thanks to all who stopped by to shop, helped out by a donation of goods or worked for a few hours or just thought of us!

One day more!

Busy Days

Between work and helping to set up for our rummage sale at church... I am super busy. The sale is all day on Thursday, Friday, and then Saturday morning. I have been hunting for storage containers for my crafting. I found some single spice racks to fit my button collection in small containers. At our church...the sorters get dibs on shopping before the sale begins as we try to organize the donated items so my tiny pile of treasures may increase -8-)! Happy crafting.
