Been there, I'm back

The "Garage Store Sale" was good. I got new rolls of Michael's Sheer Creation Ribbon for 50cents each,QuicKutz mini cookie cutter dies for 25cents each,MM embellishment paper Vintage Hip 6x6 paper pack which included a sticker pack for 50 cents, and a new package of All Night Media Mulberry papers-$1.50. I also got a copy of Cards magazine for $1.00(reg. $19.95). I was a good shopper and only bought a few stamps and a tube of SEI brads for 50cents as well.
I noticed that some CTMH sets were going for $7.00 instead of up to $20.00 plus. Many items were brand new. I even saw a few Cricuit cartridge sets selling for $15.00 but they were already spoken for when I arrived.A fun hunting experience was had by all involved!

It was cold today!

I stayed in and did some cleaning, I guess rather sorting of my stuff.I was trying to see what I should look for at the bi-annual Garage sale at one of our local paper crafting stores tomorrow. It is a great sale and normally I try to sell lots of stuff. People bring their unwanted items in on the day of the sale, have everything priced and labeled, set it in the right areas and they are done. They also get to shop before the sale opens. The shoppers pay the store directly for the items from others. The sellers get store credit for their sales. The last time,I got a Cropadile, new in a package for $10.00, a Cuttlebug alphabet die set for $8.00, and lots of great stamps(some brand new). This time I missed the sign up deadline but it will be fun to shop anyhow. There are supposed to be 45 +participants this time.

A favorite old paper

While going through my paper stash... more than I will mention, I found a half sheet of NRN Design(unknown vintage). I though it would really doll up one of my favorites...Penny Black Angel News. This one is going out to my cousin Julie to welcome the newest to the family, baby Joey. She and her husband Joe had a beautiful baby boy and after a few issues... everyone is doing okay. Can't wait for an update and hopefully a trip over the summer to NJ to meet him. Photo to come..

What a...

beautiful card! I'm in a one card swap group and see what came in the mail today. It was from Gail W. She used the new Cuttlebug folder KOI , embossed the panel and created a fabric fish to add on top. She also added some clear gems to look like bubbles,a punched border and another cutout with a message. Thanks so much Gail!

You make me smile

I found this little unmarked saying stamp in my box of extra stamps in the basement and thought it would work so well with the cute Penny Black Angel News stamp. The card will be off in the morning mail to cheer up a friend. I used one of the Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Large Squares around the stamped image. She is colored with Zig markers and has a hint of sparkle in her hair from Star Dust Stickles. The dotted ribbon is from a swap.

Love Grows

I found a cute little stamp the other day, Love Grows from Inkadinkado ,with a sweet bunny. It is perfect for Valentine's Day or even a thinking of you card. We are having a craft activity as part of our Womens Festival on Saturday at church. I think I will stamp some of these up so people can color them in for a quick card. We have a Valentine's for Veteran's project each year and these would be nice to include in the 75 gift bags we will create for a patient wing at the local Veteran's Hospital. We collect candy, puzzle books ,pencils and pens, soaps, washcloths, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, along with other items to brighten their day with help from the congregation. the children at church decorate bags, and fill them up . We have a member who will drop them off for us just in time for the holiday.

Have a Wonderful Day..

I needed to send a card to a friend. This card was made using Spellbinders-Pendant-Lattice. I like the way it turned out and adding a Verve Stamp message. The flowers were cut using Sizzlits Flowers after being embossed with the Flower folder. It was crumpled up and fastened with a brad. The Distressed Ink-Brushed Corduroy worked nicely with the brads in the center of the flower. The corner embellishments were leftovers from cutting the Lattice die.

Girl's Shopping Day

As planned, I went craft supplies shopping with a friend today since we were off. I only splurged on one bottle of Glimmer Mist. I replaced my Cherub Pink(discontinued 8-( ) with Tattered Rose.I did alter it a bit by mixing every last drop of Cherub Pink with the new one, so the color is a unique one.I tried mixing some new background sheets for my cards there.
After Archiver's, we went to Joann's, and I used my Joann's GC on a Spellbinder's Nestibilities. Yes, Joann's does have them now and they took my -50% coupon on it too. I got the classic scalloped squares large S4-127 set of 6. They also had my dream Fleur de Lis set but I decided to get a more useful set to use with my Cuttlebug, plus one special stamp. Next,Michael's had 5/$1.00 DP and I got some for Valentine's Day cards. That was it for me but my friend got two new Cricut cartridges to add to her growing collection. Can't wait for a cardmaking day soon.

Happy Valentine's Day

I thought this Gorguss Girl and her bear would be perfect to send to someone special for Valentine's day. I was lucky and grabbed free Digi stamps from Verve a few week ago. All I have to do is to print them off when needed. Using my scrap box again with the great pink stripes paper, I also had some leftover pink snowflakes from Christmas cards and a bit of sheer gold ribbon. She is all set to put a smile on someone's face.

Thinking of you Friend

Another creation from scraps was on my mind today. I decided to use Autumn Emma again but change her into a pink gal instead. I had these two scraps from a papercrafting adventure a while back. Both the edged cut paper lace plus the glittered hearts strip are unknown but the stamped verse is from Hero Arts and is another one of my favorites.A touch of Wright's Flat Cluny lace finished it off.
Card Details:

Can't stand it...

Well, I decided to rearrange my crafting area since it was a disaster spot after the flurry of Christmas crafting and now it's in cartons all over the floor. I just have to organize better. I need some inspiration on storing ink pads so they are accessible but neat. I had them in cute IKEA plastic boxes but they have now outgrown the space.(oops 8-). How to store tape runner refills too, along with the drawer system storing my growing Zig markers collection...are more questions.Don't even get me thinking about the papers. I love the storage I have for it but there is more to sort through and limited time... Any suggestions out there... ? Thanks in advance.

Tilda's back

I splurged on my first Magnolia Tilda this year and I picked Tilda and the Garland. This time I thought why not Tilda and the heart garland. She is getting ready for Valentine's Day. All it took to make a change, was to use one of my Zig Markers to draw some tiny hearts and color them . I used scrap papers and my trusty punch collection. On the Warm Wishes heart,it was Glimmer Misted and cut it out with a CM heart double punch as well as using a corner rounder. The sheer ribbon connects the hearts together and I like the way the ribbon loops stand out from the card. They will lay flat when placed in an envelope and pop back up when the card is removed and opened.
Card Details:
Cardstock: Bazzill-white, unknown DPs-Pink dots,Charcoal Dots
Ink:Memories:Sepia,Black
Stamps:Magnolia:Tilda, unknown words
Markers:Zig
Glimmer Mist:Pearl,Candy Pink
Ribbon:Mays:Sheer White Polka Dot

I made use of more of my scrap papers by using punches, ink and markers, another Gorguss Girl and something special from my button collection to make this card. The twine on the button worked to match the fur of the fox.Just a few faux pearls and a contrasting brad, she is all dolled up to go to a birthday celebration.
Card Details:
Cardstock:Bazzill-white,lilac,and violet from the scrapbox
Markers:Zig

Special Treat

Our son and DIL bought us 2 tickets to see the musical Jersey Boys down in Detroit today as our Christmas gift. It was a great show about the Four Seasons, and as former NJ-ites,we got a lot of the inside comments during the show. As a teenager, I saw the original group perform in Asbury Park. It was my first concert and I was thrilled to see them. My husband and I saw Frankie Valli in concert 3 years ago and he was still great even without the other 4 Seasons. So much fun...so many memories!

New ideas

I went blog hopping to look for something different to try out on a card.
Michelle Wooderson(MishMash).blogspot.com, wrote about using up your scraps on her entry of 12/31. She also include a cute flower to make with the scraps. I tried my version of it, using scraps plus a Gorguss girl, punches, sheer ribbon , twine and a matching button.I edged the image with Distress ink and also around the edge of the card and used my trusty Zig markers for coloring the image . I think I will try out several versions of this. There were several other people who mentioned on their blogs that they will be creating projects to help us use up our scraps. I definitely have a lot of scraps to choose from to use in projects.

Welcome to 2010..

Today I took some family time so no card but I'll be back tomorrow. With all of our busy lives, and trying to do for others, don't forget to take some time just for yourself even if it is only to put lotion on your tired hands. Hugs to all!
